Winn Family Reunion 2009 (Yellowstone Nat'l Park)

Cadee with Kate, Wyatt, Grandma, Jackson looking at the geysers around Yellowstone

Jackson decided that there were sharks in the water (where the big rocks made sort of a dark shadow) He was quite loud and enthusiastic about it. The people around us were laughing at his remarks.
Kate and Cadee
Daddy and Jackson (trying to pose just like Daddy... Parker got down to be at the same level, then Jackson copied... silly boy!)
Daddy, Baby Kate & Clara
Kate, Parker (Daddy), Brooklynn (Mommy) and Jackson
This was Jackson telling his shark theory again. Notice the seriousness of the story. I actually got it on video, but can't figure out how to get my videos onto the blog. I think they're too big.
Our pretty little baby Kate (who's going to be A WHOLE YEAR OLD soon!!!)

The tail end of Old Faithful

Here it goes again!
Whoa!! Jackson loved this!

Some of the wildlife we saw wasn't so spectacular since Parker hunts for this stuff. However, seeing the buffalo so close up made you realize just how HUGE those animals really are and why you earned so many points on the Oregon Trail game for shooting one of them... did anyone else play that game when they were younger? Parker and I were reminiscing about it during our many hours in the car.

DAY 3: Bromley Family Reunion 2009

I was SO happy when Jackson FINALLY fell asleep at Lagoon (an amusement/water park, north of Salt Lake City) because he was exhausted! Kate was already sleeping and this meant that Parker could go on some rides with "the big kids" while I "manned the station". It was hot, but we had a good spot with some shade. The lazy river was a blast. I think our little family would have been content going around and around on the tubes on the lazy river all day. Jackson got to try out some of the water slides in the kid area, which he loved. Parker and Jackson spent a lot of time over there, while I hung out with Kate during her naps. Later in the day we headed over to the amusement park part of the place. Jackson and Maddie went on some of the kid rides. Jackson has never been on a ride at all. The closest thing would be the toys at the playground or a backyard trampoline. I was a little uneasy when he wanted to follow Maddie onto the big pirate ship ride. Yes, this is a big person ride. He just BARELY hit the height requirement to go on and had to be accompanied by an adult (me). It definitely makes your stomach do somersaults. He was so white in the face, I thought he was going to lose it a couple of times, but he stayed strong. When the ride was over, he said, "that really fun Mommy. I want to go on the airplane ride now". you know, those little kid airplanes that have a lever to push or pull to make the plane go up or down. It was a little more his speed. (I think the people who were facing us were grateful he didn't throw up!)
I didn't get any pictures of the kids on the rides. I'll have to steal those from my Mom at some point. However, I did get some pictures of Alex (a cousin) and Mike (my brother-in-law) going on one of those bungee things.

Jackson could have watched this thing go off over and over again. I hope he doesn't grow up to be a dare devil. I don't think I could handle it!

DAY 2: Bromley Family Reunion 2009

Total over-exposure!!! Ahhh!!! You can't even see Moroni! These are the only pictures that were on my camera after all those attempts. How frustrating! Good thing Eric took pictures too!

Auntie Karol with Chloe & Kate (who stole Chloe's bunny)
This was pretty funny... he was looking through "my gwasses" during a church history movie.
I do not understand why these people spend so much time and energy harassing people who are just touring around to learn about their own church history and worship/believe as these please. It's not like we're hurting anyone! Seriously, folks... go do something productive!
Parker and Jackson in front of the statue that represents when Joseph Smith received the M. Priesthood from Peter, James and John
Jackson & Maddie at the Bees game (actually it was supposed to be a SLC Bees game, but their opponents were "sick" so the game was canceled and we got to watch 2 All-Star high school teams play each other.) To be honest, I think it was just as much fun. Baseball is baseball. It's not like we were going to see the Mariner's.

The fam
Since we were on the grass during the game, we got to go down on the field during the fireworks show (which was one of the best displays I've ever seen). Since it was Pioneer Day (a Utah State holiday... July 24th... when the Saints entered the Salt Lake valley), they put on a HUGE show and it was totally worth watching high school kids play baseball! Jackson was asleep, but part way through, I guess they woke him up. I was glad because he LOVES fireworks! (In this picture: Parker with Kate & Miles sitting next to them)
Sarah forgot her camera, so I tried to capture Miles' experience with the fireworks. Overall, I think he liked them.

Kate watching the fireworks... what a little cutie pie!!
This girl is cruising! She is SOOOOO busy! Definitely out does her brother in busy-ness if you compare during the same age. She is either sleeping or on the go.
Miles with sweet shades
Kate chillin' with Daddy
What do you think? Yes, Jackson just loves to watch the fireworks!

Everyone packing up to head home
The Salt Lake Bees are a minor league team... for whom? The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim... that's what it says on their website... I finally looked it up. (Now you know.)

Bromley Family Reunion 2009 (SLC/Provo area)

DAY ONE
Jackson on Uncle Tom's "tractor". I know it's not really a tractor, but he calls ride-on lawn mowers tractors too, which is why Home Depot is lovingly referred to as "the tractor store".
I'm not sure how he sniffed this out, but the boy does have skills when it comes to big toys and "boy things"
A lot of these pictures are totally random, but I didn't take many this year (as compared to before I had kids). In years past, I have caught some pretty great pics of the family. This year, not so great, but I got a few of my kids and a few of everyone else's and that's the best I could do. If these are boring to you, skip this post... you probably don't belong to the family.
Jackson eating marshmallows/smores... Maddie is covering her ears in the background because the fireworks were too loud according to her.
cousins roasting mallows

Grandma and Jackson after he stuffed the entire mallow into his mouth

This is my cousin Lexie. She asked me (as I was preparing to leave for my mission) to remind her when she got old enough that she really wanted to serve a mission too. I'm thinking she got a little side-tracked??? Or I just mis-understood what type of mission she was referring to.
